Treasures of Fallenstar
Rune Sticks - These magical conduits were created by the fay to siphon off humans’ things that they desire. They capitalize on humans love of gambling; each rune stick has a certain percent chance of giving you money, boons, health, etc. but also a chance to take those away. Leshy Gourds - These small gourds are planted and tended to by the Leshy. It’s unknown why they plant them; perhaps because they enjoy the plant or because they collect their gemstone seeds and golden threads. The Leshy do not seem to mind them being taken. These gourds are valuable in all stages of their life. Immature gourds have a golden tendril that can be sold for money or used for alchemical and ritual purposes. Mature gourds are dried out and do not have golden tendrils, but their seeds when fully mature are indistinguishable from gemstones. Only the Leshy can tell an earth-mined gemstone from a gourd seed, and they do not seem to view the seeds as the lesser valued of the two.
Gnomish Runes - These runes can be found painted on flat stones where the Gnomes have stashed their coins under. These coins are worth the equivalent of 5 cp, but they come at a cost. Taking the gnome’s coins angers them and they often will come after you after you have taken their coin.
Dwarven Standing Stones - These small rock cairns are placed by the dwarves to indicate that they have stashed golden nuggets, worth 1 silver each, within a five ft radius of the cairn. These nuggets are usually found under a nearby stone, or in or under an otherwise prominent object. Very rarely are they buried in the ground with no marking. To discourage others from raiding their cairns, they place magic dwarven fools-gold nuggets amongst the others that when taken will magically evaporate between 1 and 5 silver coins of whomever took it. Only dwarves can recognize the fools-gold nuggets; no spell can currently detect it.
Faerie Mushrooms - These rainbow mushroom rings are the portals through which the fae come to and go from this realm. These portals are set up by any fae with the ability, and consist of at least 5 mushrooms. The color of the ring tells you something about its creator and their status. When there are fewer than 5 mushrooms left the portal is broken irreparably. For most colors of mushrooms breaking the portal or taking multiple mushrooms from it will attract the ire of its creator. For the white mushroom ring, taking any mushrooms at all will cost you dearly, and you should only do so under extreme need. The rings are often surrounded by fae sticks, which you are free to take one of and which sell as alchemical ingredients for 1 cp each. Leprechaun Cakes - The extremely reclusive leprechaun leave these cakes in the woods for adventurers to stumble across. On each cake is a single magical candle. When you have three candles, you are obligated to perform the Ritual of the Leprechaun. This ritual targets one of your companions and they lose 1 sp. They will not know who caused them to lose it, and in turn you gain 9 cp. In this way leprechaun turn a profit off leaving these cakes out. Should you fail to perform the ritual after attaining three candles, you will be targeted by the leprechaun, and you may lose 2 or 3 sp as well as a few hp. Retaining non-multiples of three of the candles can provoke their irritation, and you often will find that they have been stolen off you along with a few cp after a few days.
Bendith Y Mamau Puzzles - This strange race of fae has a penchant for hording treasures they find. Each Bendith chooses their own secret place to cache all their loot. They then make themselves maps, written in their own language, which details the location of their cache. The Bendith draws this map on pieces of waterproof bark so that the map is safe from all elements and the pieces are kept in a jumble to make it even more indecipherable. When a Bendith dies, often their map pieces remain, and the cache becomes findable to those who can decipher it. If you find a cache it is often full of very valuable loot.
Ent Geld - The shepherds of the forest are a quiet and often peaceful race. Ents care for each living plant in their forest, and pay particular care to the trees of their home territories. They leave two types of treasures for adventurers, the first are silver dusted pinecones, which they shed naturally and which can be taken and traded for 3 cp. The silver from multiple pinecones can also be salvaged for alchemical or ritual purposes. Silver Pinecones can be taken with no consequence. Often, though as Ents traverse their land they find treasures and magical items which they have no use for. They place these in pouches marked with a silver symbol and leave them for adventurers. By taking the pouches you enter into an silent covenant with the Ent who left it that you will leave a goblin amulet for them at the woodland altar in exchange. If you break this oath and take the pouch without leaving an amulet they may come after you. They do this to entice adventurers to eliminate goblins when they see them; as goblins are pests and threats to their forests.
Wish Bones - The bones of many fae contain traces of magic that can be used as divination aids, boosting the level of a divination spell by one.
