The Age of Storms - A dark primitive age where the first humans discover war. It is believed that the Lost Gods arose from this age.
The Age of Kingdoms - An age of feudal lords, minor kingdoms, and warring factions. Wars determined the law of the land, and power was constantly being consolidated by kings and religious orders only to be scattered by anarchists and demons. An age of many small Light and Dark cycles that ultimately brought stable civilization.
The Age of the Great School - An era of Great Light defined by the rise of the Great School of Magic, which was established in 2992 of their calendar. In a stable society, magical and scholarly pursuits flourished. This was an era where nobility was no longer as valued as much as magical knowledge and power; Individuals could lay claim to power and therefore respect by their strength of character not by their blood. The Lost Gods were abandoned in favor of the New Gods. The 7 year Wizard War destroyed the Great School, and closed the era.
The Age of the Necromancer - This era of Great Darkness began when Necronius the Necromancer rubblized the Great School and established his brutal rule with the aide of his vast hordes of undead soldiers. Forces of death and demonic magics were very strong, and the group known as the Guardians of Saarden was established to fight the expansion of the forest of the damned into their homeland.
The Age of Rebuilding - The current age we are in now, a weak era of Light. Beginning when Melcynda sacrificed her eternity to allow her son to go into Oblivion, this is an age defined by the efforts of heroes to ferret out evil that would seek to fill the power void left in Necronius's wake. Alliances are tenuous and are being renegotiated in a world that has been at war for hundreds of years.
