FallenStar
Surrounded by dangers a tiny hamlet has grown to become a bastion of hope and relative safety. Here is its story:
In the year 2992 the Great School was erected, bearing the ShadowLands into an Age of Light. There it thrived, becoming a hub of magic, prosperity, and goodness. But as in all good things, the seed of evil remained, for now only slumbering.
One night during the long standing reign of the Great School, an Astrologer named Mira sat alone on a hilltop far from the grand college. She gazed at the flickering lights hanging above the School but saw the constellations clash against each other, twisting into configurations foretelling strife and ruin. As she stood to give warning to the High Mages, a star suddenly flared in the sky. From the center of the School’s constellation the Heart Star burned and shifted. In a blaze of light Mira watched it fall. In its plummet she saw a vision that told of the end of the Age of the Great School, and warned of a Great Age of Darkness. She saw that the world would be irrevocably changed by this oncoming age of night, and that there was slim hope of ever peeling away this darkest age.
But Mira also saw a few small hopes. She saw that one day Five Heroes would come and that they had a chance, be it ever so slim, to end the centuries of darkness to come. She also saw that in the grey days between ages one small town could sway the balance and maybe return the ShaldowLands to the light. She knew then what she must do.
Mira released her portent and tracked the star's progress across the sky. When she saw where it landed, she returned to her people. She stood tall before them, a symbol of power and wisdom and recounted her vision of destruction and the all-consuming tide of death that would raze the Great School to oblivion. She passionately urged them to gather what belongings they could and set out with her to build a new home where they had at least a chance of survival. Every person in her town rose up and followed Mira, for she was their leader, and she had never led them astray.
They came at last to a cratered hillside, the impact spot of the Heart Star. There they built the first fire pit and gathered around it for the first time. There Mira divined that this was the one place where her people would be safe, where one day the five heroes might call home. They named this new home FallenStar.
The Founders
Mira Star-Seer - The Astrologer that first predicted the fall of the Great School, and a powerful, respected leader. She lead her people from the doom that would have consumed them in the Wizard Wars and brought them to a new home which became the town of Fallenstar. After her death Mira remains to guide her people, residing in the DuskGround Graveyard. There she fashioned the Glyph of the Falling Star, which contains valuable knowledge about the state of the Shadow Lands.
Jequa the Destroyer - Also known as Jequa the Red, the sight of his flaming red hair on the battlefield was enough to turn all but the bravest soldiers. Those dangers that could elude Margen's steel, he bested by magic. Capable of razing armies to the ground with his battle magic or going toe-to-toe with great wizards. He spearheaded the guild of Warders that would eventually raise the wards around the fledgling town. Later he was able to form a second guild, the Mage’s Guild, to train more people to master arcane arts for the greater good.
Margen - The original Champion, Margen was the first warrior and protector of Fallenstar. He wielded the mighty blade, DoomHerald, to drive off the hordes of monsters and undead that roamed the lands, which gave the sages and wizards time to erect wards. Fallenstar’s bravest defender, his sword is still feared throughout the lands by all manner of monsters. He rests in DuskGrounds with the other founders and still provides guidance and warnings to those who wish to protect the town.
