Raith -

malcolm

Perhaps the most enigmatic of the older Fallenstar heroes, Raith is best known for the dichotomy of his actions. Somewhat loud and outgoing as he plies the wares of the Jack O’ Lantern Pub (the most famous of eateries in Fallenstar) he is quiet and secretive in all of his remaining life. While many have questioned his trustworthiness as he pursues his own agenda, he has been fiercely loyal to the town, the spirits within, and the benevolent Spirit Gods. Because he was trained by Tintze in his merchant and trap/lock skills, Raith’s reputation has been tainted with suspicion due to his mentor’s dark actions. Many see him as a bully of spirits due to his fearsome sword Soulcutter, which is capable of full power within the spirit realm, but those who know him realize that he has excellent working relationships with most of the spirits in the area. He has established a give and take with many of them that few others have achieved, thus giving him a large advantage in understanding the world both present and past. He is a man who pursues justice in both the realms of the living and spirit, giving his all to save those unfairly trapped by magic or circumstance, while dispensing harsh punishment on those who embrace or spread evil and corruption.

Rumored to be the richest man in all of the Fallenstar region, he remains content with his lifestyle, running the Pub for both townsfolk and adventurers, dispensing cryptic warnings to those who will listen, and working to protect the area from the machinations of the evil forces of the Shadowlands. Some believe him to have a great hoard of treasure somewhere, others think he spends a great deal of his money on secret projects that few, if any, know the purpose of. The only projects people know he has done were to ward his tavern from hostile divinations, and set up many traps to protect certain areas from theft or interference, though most suspect he has done a great deal more in secret.

While he has had many accomplishments in his adventuring career, what seems to have had the biggest impact on Raith were his trips into the past. He alone has actually seen both the days prior to the rise of Necronias, and been in the Great Citadel of the Necromancer while Necronias was still alive. Some believe that whatever he saw in those dark journeys drives his hidden plans.

Recently, he has surprised some people by beginning to turn over some of his responsibilities to his two children. To a casual observer, his relationship with them has been somewhat distant, but with Raith, rarely are things how they appear at first glance.

Kelloran

Kelloran began his adventuring career by accident. His training as a Restorer led him to be chosen by Kismet to compete in her great game. During this great festival, he found that the world was full of death he could fix, and lore that he craved to learn. His found he had a talent of deciphering old text and codes that showed him even more of the histories of the world, and as part of this, acquired information that the world before the Spirit gods was much different, and he believed he was forsaken for possessing this knowledge. Names of the old forgotten gods and those re-forged were his to know, and while he saw his companions grow ever stronger in their devotions to the pantheon of deities, he lost his single meager connection. He pursued with a passion the links between life and death, journeying to the spirit realm on multiple occasions. Here he attempted to grow strong but could never master it as well as Chells or Raith. He knew his ties to life were too strong, his will to live, the magics which always allowed him to pass back were too inherent to who he was to allow him to remain dead. Bearing his chaos-infused blade Tendril, he gained many magical artifacts which should have been in the hands of priests, but were wielded instead by this shadowed mage. His friends called him Kelloran the Black half in jest, half afraid that he will turn at any time to evil. In his heart, he only strived to understand the universe, find lost secrets and to see what makes someone truly alive.

Thomas

dave

Currently a journeyman Alchemist, that was not always the case for the tall & boisterous adventurer of this small village in the Shadowlands.

As a young man, Thomas had visions of spending time exploring the world, gaining fame & wealth and serving as a knight in town.  His earliest attempts though were often fruitless and frustrating, usually resulting in meager treasure finds and cuts from the sharp vines and thorns.  It was not until Raith took him on an instructional search/walk around the Woodland Loop that he learned of better ways to hunt for loot, Runes, and other mystical prizes in the forests and fields.

Not having the innate gift of personal spells, he spent what little extra he had on the most basic channeled items and incantations. As such, Thomas would often recklessly speak with Spirits without checking to see if they were of the harmful & deadly Red or Black variety and possibly face harsh consequences.  One fateful day, his carelessness led to an interaction with The Forgotten Alchemist-a black spirit who sought the help of a living soul to move his bones to a better & more respectful final resting place.

At the risk of his own now tainted soul, Thomas took up the charge and over the next few years, he was able to complete this noble task for one of the Founders of Fallenstar, making his final resting place within the Duskground Cemetery.

While on this lengthy Quest, the young knight was granted the powers of an Alchemist: Potion Creation, Personal Spells and magical insight.  Upon the completion of this ardent mission, Thomas chose to stay the course of this new class--which has benefited him greatly throughout his Life.
